Congratulations to Barrie Wilkins & Jill Sneesby on achieving their MFIAP distinctions, the first two in Africa.  In order to achieve the MFIAP they had to submit a panel of 20 prints each, together with an introductory text.  The portfolio must be coherent from its conception to its realization and presentation.

INTRODUCTORY TEXT - PANTHERA LEO - 'TEENAGE' LION BEHAVIOUR  Printable version pdf

Each image forms part of a portfolio but at the same time stands as a powerful statement of the magnificence of these wonderful animals.

INTRODUCTORY TEXT - ELEPHANT TRUNKS  Printable version pdf

There is much about the African Elephant that is absolutely amazing - an adult male can weigh over 6 tonnes and yet it can walk almost silently - it has a complex social society based on the same principles as our own; love, understanding, compassion, remorse and tolerance - and a trunk, made up of thousands of muscles which enable it to move in any direction - it works as a nose, an arm, a hand, a voice, a straw, a hose and much more.
