Our January winner is Martin Barber from Southern Suburbs Camera Club with his image "Sand Bank"
Sand bank is a composite with most of the photos that make up this image captured in the Western Cape. The Idea came to me from images I have seen of the ship scrapping yards in India, where ships lay in shallow water waiting to be cut up for scrap metal.
Having a collection of ship photos, I sat down and put this together, this Large strong fishing vessel, abandoned and stranded in calm water as a sort of reminder that we are vulnerable in one way or another.
I used a Nikon D7200 and 17-50mm F2.8 lens and editing in Photoshop CC.
Our 1st runner-up is also Martin Barber from Southern Suburbs Camera Club with his image "Storm at Sea"
Our 2nd runner-up is Anne Hrabar from Knysna Photographic Society with her image "Patagonian Beauty"
Thank you to the judges. They were:

JANUARY 2017 FINALISTS
HOW DOES THIS COMPETITION WORK?
This is a PSSA monthly competition where clubs enter their monthly winners (Junior and Senior) onto Photovault. Appointed judges select the winning Junior and Senior image. These monthly winners get displayed on the home page of our Website for the duration of the month.
For the Club Winning Picture of the Month a club representative (ideally the Chairperson) submits the club winners for Junior and Senior sections via Photovault at www.photovaultonline.com.
Instructions on how to upload your entry onto Photovault, can be dowloaded here
At the end of the PSSA calendar year (30 June of each year) the Senior Club Competition Winning Image of the Year is selected.
